Is This Confidential?
Although the Research Institute is affiliated with the University at Buffalo, your individual responses to the survey questions will not be shared with anyone at UB. Any descriptions or publications of this research will be reported in terms of general study participation, no individuals will be identified.
Several procedures have been implemented in order to ensure confidentiality of all research participants. Each woman is assigned a study specific identification code and this is the only identifying information on the data files. Only the Principal Investigator, Dr. Parks has access to the computer files with participant names and contact information. All of the research staff is trained in the ethical issues related to participant confidentiality and have completed the National Institutes of Health’s Human Subjects training course. Any reports of the data will not include information about specific participants: only group findings will be presented. Once all data are collected participant records will be destroyed.
